About Canada

Well known for its high-quality standard of life and multi-cultural communities, Canada has emerged as one of the most sought-after study destinations for Indian students pursuing higher education abroad. In fact, in 2014 itself nearly 30,000 Indian students were enrolled in universities across Canada which was a four-fold increase in the number of students traveling to the country to study. Canada’s high academic standards and rigorous quality controls mean that you’ll be earning a high-quality education that will open doors for your future and benefit your career over the long term. A Canadian degree, diploma or certificate is globally recognized as being equivalent to those obtained from the United States or other Commonwealth countries. With almost all of the world’s ethnic groups represented in Canada, it’s hard not to find ethnic foods and recreation activities associated with specific cultures. In fact, your international student advisor can help you get in touch with any number of ethnic clubs and associations for you to join while you’re here. In Canada, there is no federal or national department of education.

Canada’s strong economic position provides ample opportunities for international students to work and gain valuable experience while studying in Canada. Most students are eligible to work part-time during their studies, either on- or off-campus. Students can work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session. However, students can work full-time during breaks, such as the summer recess.
